Worsley Railway Station - c1967. Many thanks to Brian Wharmby for this picture.

Sadly, this is how the demolished station (above) looks today which can be seen by venturing into Worsley Woods. A dip in the surface is all thats left to indicate the once busy railway station. The railway station opened on 1st September 1864 and closed on 5th May 1969.

Monton Green Railway Station opened on the 1st November 1887 and closed on 5th May 1969. The top 2 pictures are from John Alsop and are from c1905 and Johns 3rd undated picture is of the fire at the Monton Green Station. The above pictures of both Worsley and Monton Green Stations are copied with kind permission from www.disused-stations.org.uk (a link can also be found on the links page).

Worsley Road - Undated. The houses in the picture are still standing today just before the sweep to the left where we now would meet the roundabout for barton Rd / the Motorway.

Here we have an undated picture looking down Barton Road standing on, what would be today, the large roundabout.

Here we see Worsley Village around 1900 and from now 2008. The Church spire is still visible today although it is through the trees.
